About the Speaker

Shelley Lipton, PhD | Editorial & Fine Art Photographer Shelley is a Sewickley-based photographer whose work has appeared in Life, Vanity Fair, and Rolling Stone. Originally from the Canadian prairies, Shelley holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Calgary—a perspective that deeply informs her lens.

While she remains a fixture in professional sports photography, the 2020 lockdown inspired a return to her "roots." Today, Shelley meticulously cultivates many of the botanical subjects she photographs, growing them from seed to ensure an organic connection to every frame. Her heirloom botanical collections are held in private galleries and have been exhibited in major art hubs including New York, Miami, and Santa Fe.
